Program
The aim of the Henley Sports Academy is to assist student athletes in their sporting and academic pathways. Students have two 80-minute and one 50-minute lessons per week over the school year. The Surf Life Saving Academy focus for each term includes:
Term 1
Theory focus: Nutrition and Technique Analysis
Practical focus: Race strategy, Technique development and Specific skill development
Term 2
Theory focus: Race Analysis and Sports Psychology
Practical focus: Pool rescue, Strength and Conditioning
Term 3
Theory focus: Coaching Task
Practical focus: State Level Kayak Coaching, Strength and Conditioning
Term 4
Theory focus: Individual Performance Analysis
Practical focus: Race strategy and Specific skill development
