Program
New for 2026
The aim of the Henley Sports Academy is to assist student athletes in their sporting and academic pathways. Students have two 80-minute and one 50-minute lessons per week over the school year. The Alternate Academy focus for each term would depend significantly on the sport specific focus and programs for each athlete would be tailored to include a Negotiated Individual Athlete Plan (IAP).
Term 1
Theory focus: IADP (Individual Athlete Development plan) – goal setting, GEM, student athlete diary, student athlete mentoring. Performance and nutrition/hydration.
Practical focus: Fitness Testing + Strength and Conditioning – Individual and group fitness and conditioning programs.
Term 2
Theory focus: Performance through performance Analysis, Sports Psychology, IADP (Individual Athlete Development plan) – goal setting, GEM, student athlete diary, student athlete mentoring.
Practical focus: Strength/Conditioning and flexibility – Yoga, Intrastate camp. Recovery and high performance exposure (SASI).
Term 3
Theory focus: Technique Improvement.
Practical focus: Strength and Conditioning – Individual and group fitness and conditioning programs.
Term 4
Theory focus: Coaching Principles + IADP (Individual Athlete Development plan) – goal setting, GEM, student athlete diary, student athlete mentoring.
Practical focus: Primary School Coaching.
