Year 10 Career Immersion Program: A Insight into Future Careers!

Henley High School recently hosted the Year 10 Career Immersion Program, offering students a unique opportunity to explore a wide range of career pathways. The program featured guest speakers from various industries who shared their expertise and experiences, helping students gain valuable insights into their future career options.

In the Allied Health session, Kylie Cakau from the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Education Centre presented key information about the Certificate III in Allied Health course. Students also heard from guest speakers, including:

  • Carla Smith, Senior Physiotherapist from Central Adelaide Local Health Network
  • Maybelle Swaney, Music Therapist from Women’s and Children’s Hospital
  • Phoebe Webster, Dietitian from Women’s and Children’s Hospital
  • Chelsea Marchetti, Physiotherapist from Women’s and Children’s Hospital

Simon Lucas from Mental Muscle Education led the Sports and Fitness session, providing insights into the Certificate III in Sports and Fitness course. The panel also included:

  • Rebekah Jones, Community and Sport Program Officer
  • Matthew Weistra from Pushing Performance
  • Joe Pece, Adelaide BDM for Australian Institute of Personal Trainers

Cassandra Zullo, our facilitator for Early Childhood Education and Care, presented details about the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care. Students also heard from:

  • Milly Dwyer, Assistant Centre Manager from Guardian Grange

Damian from PEER provided valuable information about pathways to Engineering and the opportunities available at their business

Amanda from Master Builders presented key information about Building and Construction pathways and opportunities in the field.

Peter Kiritsis from Woodville Ray White shared insights into Real Estate pathways and opportunities in the industry.

Blake Pascoe from the ADF delivered a condensed ADF Careers Presentation, followed by a Q&A session.

AIE informed students about pathways in gaming, animation, film, and VFX.

Marcela from the South Australian Hair and Beauty Association and Langko Salon provided key insights into the Hair and Beauty industry and owning a salon.

Fiona from TafeSA provided key information about the different pathways and the courses available from 2025.

A guest speaker from the Australian Submarine Corporation highlighted opportunities within the business and industry of Australian Submarines.

Connor McKinnon from Adelaide University shared insights on “Jobs of the Future” and university pathways.

David Warren from the Motor Trade Association provided key information about career opportunities in the Automotive industry.
