Transition

So you’ve accepted an offer to attend our school. Now what?

The Henley High School community is excited to welcome our new students and families each year. However, we also understand that the
transition from primary school to high school, or from one high school to another is a big deal and can be filled with nerves, excitement and uncertainty. We want to make this process as simple as possible for you and your child.

Transition process

Each year Henley High School runs a comprehensive transition process, which allows families that have been offered a place at our school to get prepared to start. A detailed transition guide, which contains all the information you need to prepare your child for the start of their high school journey, is provided to new families early in Term 4 to work through before the start of the school year.

The transition guide covers the following areas:

  • Transition Day and Single School Transition Day
  • Parent Information Session
  • Laptop Program
  • School fees, invoices and School Card
  • Year 7 Camp
  • Swimming Carnival
  • Surf Safety Program
  • Various consent forms including water safety, media consent and early dismissal
  • School uniform
  • Mobile phones
  • Stationery, booklist and lockers
  • Timetable
  • Communications including Compass, EdSmart and Qkr!
  • Governing Council
  • Homestay
  • School map
  • And perhaps most importantly, how to prepare for the first day of school!
