Houses and Care Groups
The house culture at Henley High School shapes the foundation upon which students develop essential life skills and character. A positive house culture fosters an environment where diversity is celebrated, collaboration is encouraged, and a sense of belonging is cultivated. It becomes a microcosm of the wider world, preparing students for the challenges and opportunities they will encounter in their future endeavours.
Henley High School consists of five Houses:

Each House has a Year Level Leader and a team of teachers who work together to provide a safe and supportive learning environment for all students. Students are placed into year levels and then into a House Care Group with a dedicated Care Group teacher.
Students in Years 7 to 10 have many of their lessons with students of their House. Care Group and some lessons are also held within their specific House learning area and classrooms.
Activities, events and experiences delivered to strengthen house culture include Sports Day, Swimming Carnival, Breakfast Clubs, Year 12 Colour Run and regular house activities, games and challenges held throughout the year.
Care Group Teachers
The Care Group teacher is the first person parents/caregivers should contact when any issue is experienced. Care Group teachers will also contact parents/caregivers with any concerns that may arise.
Year Level Leaders
Year Level Leader provides additional support to students with academic, social and attendance concerns. Parents/caregivers can also contact Year Level Leaders about issues that have not been resolved with the Care Group.
Middle and Senior School Assistant Principals
The Middle School Assistant Principal works with the Year 7–9 cohort to support effective transition from primary to secondary school. This role focuses on helping students build strong connections within the school community, develop resilience as learners, and grow in their understanding of their strengths and sense of purpose in their learning.
As the demands and complexity of schooling increases and attention shifts to completing school and beyond, students in years 10 – 12 are supported with a specific Senior School Assistant Principal to work with students to address SACE, VET, pathways and the many other elements that arise in senior school.
