Empowering Future Entrepreneurs
Back to NewsYear 12 Business Innovation and Digital Technologies students recently had a transformative experience as they participate in an Entrepreneur Workshop designed to enhance their business innovation skills.
The workshop featured a diverse lineup of accomplished local entrepreneurs who shared their real-world experiences of building and managing successful businesses. Students had the unique opportunity to hear firsthand from these industry leaders about their entrepreneurial journeys and gain insights into the practical challenges and rewards of business ownership.
The entrepreneurs shared a wealth of wisdom with the students, highlighting the importance of local engagement: “Think local, act local and watch it grow.” They also imparted crucial advice on entrepreneurship, including the necessity of taking risks, embracing change, and adapting fluidly “Be like a river and go with the flow.” They advocated for growing the industry collaboratively and supporting competitors, as there is enough opportunity for everyone. One key takeaway was shared with the timeless quote from Thomas Edison: “Vision without Execution is Hallucination,” underscoring the importance of turning ideas into actionable plans.
During the workshop, students presented the prototypes and hypothetical business models they have been developing. Presenting to each entrepreneur allowed for insightful interactions and valuable feedback. The insights gained will be instrumental in refining their projects, which are a key component of their upcoming assessment tasks.
The Entrepreneur Workshop was an invaluable experience for HHS students, bridging the gap between classroom theory and real-world application. It offered a unique platform for students to test their ideas, receive constructive criticism, and enhance their entrepreneurial skills in preparation for their future careers.
We want to say a huge thank you to the participating entrepreneurs for taking time out of their day to support our future entrepreneurs.
